Ferroplate Magnet

The Dings Ferroplate Magnets are non-electric, flat plate type magnetic separators. They are designed to remove metal from processed powders and granular materials conveyed in chutes from the food processing and packaging industry. Some of our ferroplate magnet models (Hydro Hump) can be adapted to liquid pipe lines. Ferroplates are very flexible in application. It can easily be integrated into any conveying system and there is never any operating cost. Ferroplate magnets have a high surface strength, which makes them ideally suited for rectangular, sloping chute applications (Dings has models for vertical chutes, round chutes or pneumatic lines and can customize mounted flanges and more to fit your specific applications), removing damaging metal and ferrous contaminants. These low-cost permanent plate magnets are widely used in many industries. Ferroplates are made of stainless-steel in several models that differ in magnetic power. Each is available in sizes to fix any chute from 4’ to 72” wide (Dings can custom design any equipment to meet your specific needs). Ferroplate magnets come in 5 different models – 2100, 2200, 2300, 2400 and the Ultimate. Depending on the requirements of your application, these models can adequately cover all chute handling conditions (for plate magnet applications). There is no limit on how frequently or continuously you can use a Ferroplate magnet.

2100 Ferroplate Magnet

A permanent ceramic plate magnet intended for magnetic separation of dry or loose flowing materials up to 3 inches deep.

2200 FERROPLATE MAGNET

A permanent ceramic plate magnet intended for magnetic separation of dry or moist material flows from 3 inches to 3.5 inches deep.

2300 FERROPLATE MAGNET

A permanent ceramic plate magnet intended for magnetic separation of dry or wet material flows from 3 inches to 4.5 inches deep.

Liquid Tight Face FERROPLATE MAGNET

Liquid tight face is standard on all designs. Other magnets may offer a liquid tight face at an additional cost, but with Dings, you never have to remember to specify this feature. It’s an advanced design included just for our customers. You won’t have to worry about liquid penetrating the face of a Dings Ferroplate magnetic separator.

Dry Hump FERROPLATE MAGNET

Dry Hump magnets are specially shaped, enclosed chute type magnetic separators that have two Ferroplates on opposite sides of each duct. Ferroplates are mounted on the sloped surfaces in a hump. They are designed to direct flow of material in a vertical chute first against one Ferroplate magnet, then against a second Ferroplate. The force of gravity can then work with the attractive force of both magnets – and that means the best possible separating action. Accessing the magnet faces is as easy as unlatching the hinged Ferroplates.

Auto Clean Hump FERROPLATE MAGNET

Auto Clean Hump is the easiest solution to purifying materials in hard-to-reach pipes or chutes. The angular housing provides maximum separating power in vertical applications, protecting processing equipment from tramp iron and product from ferrous contaminants. A pneumatic system controls the auto-clean, with the addition of pneumatic cylinders and valves. It operates continuously without attention. The auto-clean model drastically reduces downtime and allows the magnetic hump to be used in remote locations.

Control Box (for Auto-Clean Hump)

The Self-Clean Magneti Hump comes with a NEMA 12 Remote Control Box. An automatic reset timer and a cleaning mode switch are easily accessible on the front of the box. Cleaning of the Self-Clean Magnetic Hump can be set to cycle at minutes or hours and in manual mode.

Round Pipe magnetic Separator

Dings Round Pipe Separator adapts a Ferroplate to a round sloped chute. The Ferroplate is mounted on its rectangular center section and round adaptors are welded on each end of the rectangular section.

Perma Chute magnetic separator

Perma Chutes effectively clean free-falling powders and coarse materials through vertical chutes from ferrous contaminants. Two massive magnets are mounted on opposite walls of the Perma Chute enclosure, projecting intense magnetism into the product flow area. Perma Chutes are used where space is limited, with materials which couldn’t pass freely through a grate magnet or when the chute is too vertical for a standard plate magnet to work effectively.

Quick Clean Perma Chute Magnetic Separator

The Quick Clean Perma Chute model combines the advantages of the free-flowing Perma Chute with the convenience of a built-in drawer for disposing of the separated ferrous contaminants. This design accumulates metal on the two stainless steel walls of the drawer. That metal will fall away as the drawer is pulled out of the separator flow space.

Pneumatic Inline magnetic separator

The Pneumatic Inline magnet installs directly into the pneumatic line to capture ferrous contaminants in the product stream without inhibiting material flow. An enlarged line section with an external magnet, the separator may be installed virtually anywhere in pneumatic lines. The hinged magnet swings away from the housing for easy cleaning. To clean the plate, loosen the clamping handles and swing the magnet open.

Sanitary Finish

A fully welded and blasted finish – free from cracks, pockets and/or corners that could allow for materials to collect. Made using stainless-steel to prevent corrosion.

4 Pole Construction

4 Pole design is two ferroplates side by side constructed into one unit. This extra surface length allows material flow to pass through an increased distance of magnetic field. Installation and cleaning are conveniently simple and is typically used in applications operating at high speeds.

Door Close Sensor

This switch communicates to a system indicating if the door is open or closed.

Pad Eyes

Pad Eyes are steel-constructed and welded to the Ferroplate for use in suspending or hauling.

Rare Earth Magnetic Material

Dings offers flat face ferroplate magnets with rare earth magnetic material. Rare earth plates have 16 times more holding power than magnetic plates with ceramic material. This stronger holding force, along with more pulling power, is important for separating weakly magnetic material.
